The short version

Weave is a journal that runs entirely on your phone. What you write or speak stays on your device - there is no account, no server, and no one at Weave who can read it. The AI that reflects on your writing runs on-device too, so your words never leave the phone to be processed. This policy is split into two parts: the Weave mobile app, and this website.

A. The Weave mobile app

The app is built so that your journal never leaves your device. Concretely:

• Your entries stay on your device. Everything you write or speak is stored only in a local database on your phone. Nothing is sent to a server operated by Weave or anyone else.
• No account, no sign-in. Weave has no login and no user profile, so there is no identity to attach your data to in the first place.
• Voice stays private. Voice notes are transcribed on-device and the audio is deleted immediately. Your audio is never uploaded or retained.
• AI reflections run on-device. The reflections and patterns Weave surfaces are generated on your phone. Your writing is never sent off the device for processing.
• No analytics or tracking in the app. The app contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party data sharing. (The website analytics described below apply only to this website, not the app.)
• Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. Weave never sees or stores your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles that.
• Backups stay in your control. Backup is a user-initiated, encrypted export you create through the iOS share sheet. You choose where it goes; Weave never receives it.
• App updates. The app may fetch updates over the network. These updates carry no personal data.
• Deleting your data. Because your data lives only on your device, deleting entries in the app - or uninstalling the app - removes it. There is nothing to request from Weave, because Weave never had a copy.
• Children. The app is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone.

B. This website (tryweave.app)

This section is about the website you are reading now - not the app, which collects nothing. On this website we collect:

• Your email address, if you send it to us. We store it securely and use it solely to reply and to send occasional updates about Weave.
• Basic, privacy-friendly analytics (we use Umami, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites) to understand how many people visit this website - never to build a profile of you individually. This applies to the website only; the app has no analytics of any kind.

Your rights (website)

You can ask us, at any time, to tell you what information we hold about you on this website, to correct it, or to delete it entirely. Just reach out and we'll take care of it. Note this applies to the website email described above - it can't apply to your journal entries, because those live only on your device and Weave has no access to them.
